Hello Reader,
Welcome to Leo Season. I hope this finds you well and enjoying your summer. I’ve been traveling much of the summer and just finished teaching a workshop to a lovely group in Beijing on Psychological Astrology and Family Dynamics.
Astrologically, we are just coming out of what is known as a “Basket” where Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto have been in perfect alignment. The rarity of these slow-moving bodies connecting in such a way is hard to overstate.
While baskets do happen, this one is unique. The fact that it involves only outer planets, that is, the slower-moving ones, means a few things. One – it's super uncommon – we're talking 100s of years since there was one that was similar. And two, because they are slow moving it's longer lasting - it took place from July 15–24. And because this is such a rare alignment, the impact is likely to be long-lasting. Some astrologers have gone as far as to call it a once-in-a-generation occurrence.
So, what does it mean for you?
Jupiter in Leo is in dialogue with Uranus in Gemini, Neptune in Aries and Pluto in Aquarius – and over the week or so they have been in tight alignment (all at 4˚ of their respective signs), the Moon has been dancing in and out of the conversation.
Without going into a long explanation, Uranus in Gemini is calling us to be inventive in what we say and how we say it. At the same time, Neptune in Aries is a siren call toward our own spiritual awakening. Jupiter, having just moved into Leo for the next year, is reminding us to have fun in the wake of all the change that lies before us. And Pluto’s extended stay in Aquarius reminds us that the only constant is change, so try to enjoy the ride. More broadly, these celestial bodies are in Fire or Air signs, meaning we will likely adapt in our communication and actions in the coming months. And because of the rarity of this alignment, global actions and communication will also be altered. There is so much to this alignment that it’s hard to put it all in words here
Adding to this is this Month’s Full Moon. It takes place on the 29th at 10:30 am EDT. As Full Moons are always in the opposite astrological sign as the Sun, and we are in Leo Season, this Full Moon is in Aquarius.
Occurring at 6˚ Aquarius, it will be in the same place in the sky as Pluto and the Sun with Jupiter. This configuration will reignite the energy of the “basket” while also calling in the letting-go energy of the Full Moon. It is likely to be a powerful day of releasing blocks to connecting to and expressing our individuality.
